EQUITABLE LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT

We envision a Detroit where all children have access to a culturally relevant and rigorous education that nurtures their unique talents, and equips them with the tools, skills, and foundational knowledge to thrive.

Reality shows a stark gap in adequate resources, school attendance and achievement, which leaves Detroit’s youth at-risk for educational disengagement and subsequent roadblocks to entering the college and career pathways. Our community is seeking solutions for an improved education system. We strive to mobilize organizations to create educational programming hubs as well as workshops that equip youth to advocate for improved learning experiences. We want spaces for young people to work with school officials designing inclusive, culturally relevant curricula and out-of-school programming that enhances the educational experience for more of Detroit’s youth.
