YOUTH VOICE AND OUTCOMES

We expect Detroit youth to lead, collaborate, and consult throughout each stage of the Detroit Youth Action Plan, transforming Detroit into a more youth inclusive city, where youth hold decision and implementation power.

The reality is that too many youth voices are ignored, and systems discount their strengths, often grouping them into negative stereotypes. Our communities want stronger youth-adult relationships that celebrate youth power in action, and build a climate of mutual respect, positivity, and productivity. We want to co-create values amongst youth, community members, youth ecosystem workers, and funders that align everyone’s decision on how DYAC plans to center youth. We seek to uplift youth while advocating for funds to support their inclusion and leadership with DYAC.
